SDSU Mission Valley will serve higher education, the public good, and the community's goals and aspirations. SDSU envisions a vibrant, mixed-use, medium-density development that is transit-oriented, and expands the university's educational, research, entrepreneurial, and technology transfer programs.

As a catalyst for the future, Aztec Stadium is the first project of the SDSU Mission Valley campus. This historic expansion will launch San Diego State University into a bold future. Sitting in the heart of America's Finest City, this multi-use venue will serve as a hub of community engagement and Aztec pride.

The 35,000-capacity stadium with flexibility to expand temporarily to 40,000 will serve as the home for Aztec Football. SDSU will work with partners in the tourism industry to host: NCAA championships, international soccer, concerts, festivals, high school sports, and other entertainment events. The stadium will cultivate a world-class experience for students, faculty, staff, community members and over 200,000 SDSU alumni in San Diego County.

In 2019, SDSU selected Clark Construction as the stadium contractor, announced Gensler as the architect and released a draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR). The San Diego City Council approved the purchase and sale agreement for SDSU Mission Valley in June of 2020, and a groundbreaking ceremony was hosted in August with limited attendance. Expected completion is scheduled for the start of the 2022 college football season.

We anticipate two types of seating options in the new stadium: Premium and Priority. Specific details including pricing and amenities for premium seating will be available in 2020 followed by priority seating in 2021.

Aztec Club members and season ticket holders are currently being contacted by members of the Athletic Department about the first available seating options.

The Aztec Stadium Experience Center is located in Mission Valley just a few miles from the construction site. This space brings the future gameday experience to life with a full-scale model, mock suite, and virtual views from every seat in the stadium.

A variety of new premium seating options located throughout the stadium including Founders Suites, Founders Club Seats, Luxury Suites, Loge Boxes, Club Seats, and Ledge Seats will be available.

Ticket prices will be established once stadium designs and seating configurations are finalized. Our goal is to provide options for all fans to support SDSU while enjoying a world-class experience.
